M.A.C. NWL RESERVOIR MASTERS SERIES 2026 – LOCKWOOD BECK – ROUND 1 RESULTS… Anth Smith took the overall honours – with pole out-fishing the feeder and end pegs playing their part – as this years competition kicked-off in mild spring weather and the top three weights coming from A zone in the woods.
Pegged on A1 by the lifebuoy Anth took full advantage of his end peg, fishing the pole for a catch of mainly roach with bonus skimmers for a winning weight of 15lb-04oz and the all-important 1 point for the section win. On the other end peg in the zone – A9, Jeff Herbert put 13lb on the scales for the section win and second place with Ken Golightly on the next peg – A8 taking third place with 11lb-04oz – just an ounce ahead of Neil Waters who took fourth place in the super pool money and a section win with 11lb-03oz from another end peg – B1 in the shallower water on the dam wall.
Also taking 1 point and a section win into round 2 are Michael Mac who’s 1lb-09oz from B8 in the deep water near the tower on the dam wall was good enough to nick the section, while in Zone C past the tower Dale Conway took his section with 8lb-09oz of pole caught roach and Paul Spowart on end peg C10 put 6lb-09oz on the scales to take the last section.

Round 2 of the competition takes place on Sunday 17th May with Zones on rotation it’s all to play for! – With roach dominating recent catches it will interesting to see where the skimmers/bream start to show in numbers as the weather warms up – Thanks to Dale for looking after the match and Paul Stainsby on official catch shot duties.
