M.A.C. STOCKING – HUTTON RUDBY – 09/03/24 – Following the results of the recent Environment Agency Assessment Netting at Hutton Rudby it immediately became clear that there was a lack of juvenile fish in the front pond and that the ageing population of Ide has diminished since the last netting – As the netting was rescheduled towards the end of the ideal window for stocking fish, the Fisheries Officer and Club Committee made a swift decision – informed both by the findings of the EA netting and following consultation with the club’s stock suppliers – to boost the silver fish stocks in the front pond with the introduction of 150 8-10”+ skimmer bream and 50lb of Ide in the 12oz-1lb bracket.
This ‘levelling-up’ stocking is part of ongoing improvements to encourage recruitment, and development of a long-term stocking policy that ensures a high level of sustainability across all species at the ponds – Providing our members with improved opportunities for mixed coarse fishing and more bites!
Excellent work by Fishery & Committee Officers involved in turning the stocking round in a week following the netting last Friday. Many thanks to Carpvale Fisheries & club members who gave up their time to make introducing the fish a smooth operation.
Tight Lines!
