Lockwood Beck Reservoir has recently received a stocking of coarse fish from the Environment Agency fish farm at Calverton as part of ongoing work nationwide to boost fish stocks, funded by fishing licence income.
This welcome investment of a further 1,000 roach, 600 skimmer bream and 300 rudd to the reservoirs natural stocks of roach and perch follows on from a similar stocking of 1,500 skimmer bream, tench and crucian carp in 2017 as Northumbrian Water continue to work closely in partnership with the Environment Agency to increase angling opportunities.
Catch reports from Lockwood by M.A.C. Members indicate that fish – especially the skimmer bream – from the initial stocking have established themselves and are thriving at the venue and we welcome further reports following the new additions.
