M.A.C. – Sept/Oct Roundup 2025

M.A.C -Sept/Oct Roundup Club news, Notices, Points of interest, Information for Members from the Club Committee Meeting held on Monday 29/9/2025.

  • FISH WELFARE – The club rules and regulations are in place to protect the club, its Members, venues & importantly, our fish. This month we have sent out a warning letter to a member who has been seen unhooking fish on the steps, concrete or grass without an unhooking mat. This is in breach of our rules and not in the best interest of fish welfare. This month we have also terminated the Membership with immediate effect, of a Member that committed a serious breach of the rules regarding handling of Fish & Fish Welfare – Members are reminded to prioritise fish welfare for all species and sizes and also use an appropriate unhooking mat / weigh sling where necessary.
  • HUTTON RUDBY OCTOBER MATCHES – Three matches are taking part on the back pond at Hutton Rudby during October. These matches are to be held on the following Sundays: 12/10, 19/10 & 26/10, these matches will be used to move some of the larger carp into the front pond in line with the ongoing stocking policy – The back pond will be closed to pleasure anglers on these dates – You can sign on for these matches with Dale at Anglers Choice (tel 01642 899288) from 9:00am on Tuesday 07th October.
  • The Hutton Rugby Monday Matches are now finished for the year – Thanks to Budgie and Martin for looking after the matches and posting the results up on the Facebook group and to all who have taken part and supported the matches this year.

  • REMINDERS TO MEMBERS:
  • MARSKE RESERVOIR MAJOR WORKS CONTINUE – The pegs in the 30’s are still to be refurbished, we will be looking at these in the coming months as well as other remedial work – the venue will remain open while work is completed – members are asked to stay clear of areas where work is taking place and to keep paths clear when the workmen are on site.
  • Only members of the club should be present on our venues. Any non-members are not covered by our insurance policy.
  • Membership checks will continue on all our venues, not only by our Fisheries Officers, Committee Members and Bailiffs.
  • Environment Agency & Rural Police have been given permission to attend our venues at anytime and have already visited Marske Reservoir on several occasions.
  • If you are asked to show your Membership card or Rod Licence or maybe just asked to reel in to do a rig check please don’t be offended it is merely to ensure fish welfare and continued enjoyment of our venues for members.
  • Please ensure all landing nets (keep nets for matches), weigh slings and unhooking mats etc are dry and left out in the open to air before fishing to avoid the spread of disease. UV light kills off any unwanted bacteria.
  • Please ensure the gates are locked at all times – when opening the first gate at Marske reservoir please don’t use the lock to keep the gate open – this causes damage to the lock.
  • Please take all of your Rubbish/Litter/Cans home with you and dispose of them responsibly. Leaving Rubbish for somebody else to pick up will not be tolerated, if caught memberships will be revoked. LEAVE LITTER – LEAVE THE CLUB.

Lastly… Tight Lines to all our Members, Stay Safe & Thanks for reading this update.
